Kendari city as the capital of Southeast Sulawesi province continues to experience the process of construction and development of urban amenities as well as a fairly rapid population growth. Thus, indirectly it requires and heightens the demand / need for land. The high demand or need for land in Kendari leads to changes in land use especially agriculture to non agriculture had become unmanageable. Uncontrolled change of agricultural land use to non-agricultural in Kendari resulted in farmland as an alternative food for Kendari community has been reduced, and also the changes in land use which do not conform with the
designation that has been set by the government and legalized by The Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Kendari City. Therefore, it is needed information through map suitability of land use changes on RTRW of Kendari which aims to determine the spatial location, type, pattern and speed of changes in land use in every year as well as to know the land use changes that deviate to the RTRW in Kendari city.
This study used descriptive quantitative method with spatial approach. The analysis technique used was spatial analysis. The study was conducted by overlaying a map of Kendari city land use in 2010 and 2015. The land use maps that have been done updating through field surveys to produce maps of land use change 2010-2015. Then, it was done the analysis for compliance with RTRW in Kendari city.
The results and analysis of research that have been done, it could be seen: 1) The land use changes that occurred in Kendari city most changing in its use such as the type of land use garden into other types of land use such as coarse grass, public trade, fishpond, industry, residence, empty space, and ware house with the total of land use covered area of 2033.25 hectares. 2) The pattern of land use change in Kendari was a pattern of concentric and pattern extends all the way to the land-use change speed of 1066,047 ha / year. 3) The result of comprehensive land-use change of 12435,952 hectares (46 359%) did not
correspond to the comprehensive spatial planning and land use changes of 14388,927 hectares (53 640%) in accordance with the Spatial in Kendari.
The results of this research, it is expected becomes information such a map that will give input to the land office of Kendari in giving granting technical considerations of land both to the community and private sectors that will change the use of land in Kendari city.
