Gogolan Land is communal land which is given to the Gogol with the right to utilize. Gogol is a certain group of people obliged to establish the village, therefore they are rewarded right to utilize the gogolan land (rights of gogolan land). Since UUPA was applied, gogolan land is no longer subject to the rules of gogolan, but on the provisions stipulated in the UUPA and other regulations. The purpose of this research is to determine the process of land registration of gogolan in Sidoarjo and to know the obstacles in the implementation of the land registry.
This research used qualitative research method that have descriptive features. This research tried to explain and analyze the process of land registration of gogolan land in Sidoarjo from the data obtained in the field, both primary data collected by direct interviews and secondary data from the archives of Land Office, papers and legislation .
The result of this research explains that the process of land registration of gogolan land in Sidoarjo contains rregularities. Based on the existing theory,to get the status of right of ownership from land right of gogolan must through the Conversion of land rights under Article VII Conditions of Conversion - UUPA, but practically in the Land Office of Sidoarjo, to get right of
ownership, the procces must through the application of right granting as gogolan land in Sidoarjo is the object of Landreform or State land of the object of land regulation and arrangement.
This research is expected to contribute to new knowledge in the College of Sekolah Tinggi Pertanahan Nasional, and may provide contribution into the conduct of registration of land in the Land Office of Sidoarjo.
